This post is all about low calorie Starbucks drinks.

For better or for worse, I am a die hard Starbucks addict.

If I’m being completely honest, Starbucks (and coffee in general), is one of my main monthly expenses.

I go to Starbucks at least 3-4 times per week, and have done so for the last 10+ years.

With that being said, it’s no surprise that I have tried just about everything on the menu.

I also have a pretty good understanding of the different types of coffee (blend/roast profile and drink type, etc.), as well the syrups and milk options.

For someone who indulges in coffee daily, I know firsthand how quickly the calories can add up.

I don’t want to drink a ton of calories everyday (I’d rather get my calories from food), so that’s why I started paying closer attention to how to cut out extra calories in your coffee order.

If you are also interested in trying some lower or low calorie Starbucks drinks, read on for some of the top tastiest options.

Note: These options are on the sweet to semi-sweet side, but can be tweaked by reducing the number of pumps of syrup used or leaving off the Stevia if you prefer less sweet!

What is a low calorie Starbucks drink?

While this is all subjective, depending on your calorie goals, I consider any drink under 150 calories to be a low calorie drink.

Some people might choose to keep their coffee calorie intake below 100, but in my mind, that extra 50 calories is worth it tasting delicious!

Why should you drink low calorie Starbucks drinks?

Well, it’s pretty simple!

Drinking lower calorie drinks is beneficial for your health.

Drinking high calorie, sugary coffee drinks everyday is most certainly not good for you, and it’s just a matter of time before your weight starts to creep up from all the added cals.

So, keeping the calories low in your coffee is great way to still enjoy your morning coffee but not feel like you are sabotaging your health by doing so.

Furthermore, if you are in a calorie deficit already and trying to shed a few pounds, you definitely don’t want to waste your calories on coffee. You should be saving your higher calorie food intake for actual meals to fuel your body.

Additional Tips for Low Calorie Starbucks Drinks

Below are some additional details to keep in mind if you are looking for more ways to reduce calories on your Starbucks order.

Downsize Your Drink

Opting for a Tall or Grande (which are the equivalent of a small (12 ounce) or medium (16 ounce) will save you so much in calories. This is mostly because there is less milk and not as many pumps of syrup!

Choose a Low Calorie Milk

Opt for almond, coconut, or skim milk since they are the lowest calorie milk options Starbucks offers.

Cut Syrup and Sub With Zero Calorie Sweeteners

You don’t have to sacrifice calories for sweetness in your coffee! Try asking for “half sweet” on any of the standard drinks and add in a Stevia or Splenda. You can also ask for Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup instead of regular Vanilla Syrup.

Utilize Cinnamon

For more flavor, add cinnamon to your coffee order. Cinnamon pairs especially well with Vanilla, Brown Sugar, and Cinnamon Dolce Syrups.

Skip Whip & Cold Foam

Anytime I’m trying to save on calories, I pass on the whipped cream and cold foam.

Whipped cream easily adds 60-100 calories, and cold foam adds a whopping 70-110.

You can get a great tasting coffee without those additives, so they really aren’t necessary!
